String art is an easy technique and once the nails have been hammered in with any help, it is feasible for everyone.
Leftovers in particular are ideal to use. A lot of material is possible: knitting and crochet yarn, wool, raffia, cord, rope, you name it. As always: choose what suits you best or who you are making a gift for.
How do you make this?
1: Have everything ready for necessities, that works tidy. Further preparation: print or draw a pattern and cut it out. Put dots at a fixed distance from each other, later you can hit the nails directly into the wood at that fixed distance.
2: Paint the wood with white paint, white gesso is also possible. Let it dry or blow dry. Stick the cut out pattern in the desired place.
3: With a hammer, hammer small nails around the pattern and where the spacers are. Then pull the yarn or else around the nails, you can also zigzag the yarn back and forth.
4: Glue silk flowers or, as now, trendy dried flowers on the wood, within the vase contour and behind the yarn.
